Head of medicine, Anderson Moores Veterinary Specialists
David is head of medicine at Anderson Moores Veterinary Specialists (AMVS) in Winchester, Hampshire. He leads a team of 12 medicine and cardiology clinicians who are able to offer a wide range of expertise to the sick patients that they see. This includes expertise in urinary tract disease (including kidney problems), liver disease, bowel disease, heart disease, lung disease, diseases of the immune system and glandular disease. David has particular clinical and research interests in kidney disease and bowel disease. AMVS is a multidisciplinary hospital meaning David and his team have on site access to multiple other specialists. This means cases seen at AMVS can receive the best possible care and can be investigated and managed quickly. David is part of the team that runs the AMVS Hyperthyroid Centre; a dedicated centre for the management of hyperthyroidism in cats. David is frequently invited to speak at national conferences and he regularly provides continuing professional development for veterinary surgeons and veterinary nurses, as well as providing updates on various diseases for pet owners. David is passionate about medicine and providing an exceptional service to his clients and their pets. He supports referring vets across the South with their challenging medicine cases and continues to provide input on the patients he has seen for many months and often years after discharge.
David has active research interests in kidney disease, bowel disease and liver disease. He has been actively involved in the recognition and investigation of ‘Alabama rot’ in the UK. He continues to educate vets and pet owners on this devastating disease whilst also continuing to research the possible cause(s).
