RCVS Recognised Specialist in Small Animal Surgery

Ivan graduated from the University of Bristol in 1997. He obtained the RCVS Certificate in Small Animal Surgery in 2002 and returned to Bristol to undertake a small animal surgical residency in 2004. Ivan became an RCVS Diplomate in Small Animal Soft Tissue Surgery in 2008 and an RCVS Recognised Specialist in Small Animal Soft Tissue Surgery in 2010. Ivan has been a committee member and meeting organiser for the Association of Veterinary Soft Tissue Surgeons and an examiner for the RCVS Diploma in Small Animal Soft Tissue Surgery. Since completing his residency, Ivan has worked as a soft tissue surgery Specialist in the UK and France, and spent six years as a senior staff surgeon at the University of Bristol before joining Bristol Vet Specialists (formerly Highcroft Veterinary Referrals) in 2017. He takes pleasure in all elements of soft tissue surgery and has been particularly active in promoting the use of a minimally invasive (intravascular) approach to the surgical treatment of intrahepatic portosystemic shunts in the UK and Spain.
