Clinical Profile

Owen is an RCVS, American and European recognised Specialist in Veterinary Oncology with a passion for improving the treatment of animals with cancer. He was appointed a Diplomat of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine in Oncology (2018), an RCVS specialists in 2019 and a European Specialist in 2021. He was previously awarded Membership of the Australian & New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists in small animal medicine (2012) and holds a master's degree based on research on canine lymphoma. Owen graduated from Cambridge University in 2005 and worked in general practice for almost 10 years before becoming an oncology resident at the Royal Veterinary College. After his residency term ended Owen began his current role as medical oncology specialist at Highcroft Referrals in Bristol, later Bristol Vet Specialists. He is interested in all aspects of oncology, in particular haematopoietic malignancies, haemangiosarcoma and paraneoplastic disease. He is currently head of the oncology service at Bristol Vet Specialists

Research

Owen is particularly interested in canine and feline lymphoma, haemangiosarcoma, histocytic disease, novel and immunotherapies. He has published in the fields of canine lymphoma and melanoma.
